Regulations Surrounding Solicitors

There is an annual fee payable for all Solicitors in England and Wales who wish to practise in order for them to obtain a Practising Certificate. This fee is paid to the Law Society of England and Wales, a body which represents the profession. Although The Solicitors Regulation Authority isfunded by mandatory annual fees made by solicitors to the Law Society, they act independently, but combined make up the complete system of professional regulation for solicitors. If complaints about solicitors are not resolved satisfactorily by the solicitors' firm these complaints may be put forward to the Legal Ombudsman
